David "Wolfman" Williams (born 15 April 1986 in Redcliffe, Queensland) is an Australian professional rugby league player for the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. He plays on the wing and can also play in the centres. [1]
He is the brother of North Queensland Cowboys player, John Williams. and is a former Parramatta RL Junior, playing for the Hills District Bulls based at Baulkham Hills in Sydney's North-West
Williams scored a try in the 2008 NRL Grand Final victory over the Melbourne Storm.[2]
In October 2008, Williams was named in the Australia squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.[3][4]. He made his test debut against Papua New Guinea at Dairy Farmers Stadium, scoring 3 tries and making a long break which led to another. Due to a hip flexor injury to teammate Brent Tate, Williams will get his chance in the main team and will play in the World Cup Final against New Zealand on November 22, 2008.
In 2008 Williams developed a cult following and became known as the "Wolfman" for his shaggy locks and full beard. Following the Manly Sea Eagles Grand Final victory, he had his beard forcibly shaved by fellow Manly winger Michael Robertson.
